Illegal apartments a taxing problem for City:There might be as many as 30,000 illegal apartments in Mississaugaputting a strain on services — and the City can’t do much about thesituation, says Mayor Hazel McCallion. If McCallion is correct, that works out to about 60,000people, or one in 11 residents in the city, who aren’t on the tax roll.
