Young housing “heroes” applauded at awards ceremony: “Halton Region is pleased to announce the winners of the first annual ‘Be a
Hero. Be a Voice for Affordable Housing.’ Contest. The Grand Prize of $500 was
awarded to Jesse Mortensen of Bishop PF Reding High School in Milton for his
interpretation of ‘Amar’s Story.’ His powerful video features the fictional Amar
growing up in Milton, graduating, getting married, having a child, facing rising
housing prices - and leaving Milton due to the lack of affordable housing.
